Integration Ukrainian-Polish Camp of Social Entrepreneurship in Gdańsk
A team of Ukrainian activists from NGO “Poruch” went to Gdansk where they joined the Ukrainian-Polish project – Integration camp of social entrepreneurship that was held from 6th to 13th in Gdańsk (Poland).
The project was implemented by«Fundacja IRSE»in partnership with NGO “Poruch” in the framework of the Ukrainian-Polish youth exchanges under the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the of Poland Republic.
The aim of this project was to improve knowledge on the topic of social entrepreneurship as a means of problems solving in their communities, intercultural integration of Ukrainian and Polish youth, stimulating them to cooperate in social projects.
Intensive seven-day training included various techniques and exercises, based on the principles of non-formal education. After «team-building» exercises members learned new information, and became stronger teams, also they determined the major social problems and their effects in Poland and Ukraine and compared the way of functioning of social enterprises in both countries, examined the legal and tax fields of activities and have made their own perfect image of a social entrepreneur.
In addition, participants from Poland and Ukraine visited local social enterprises in Gdansk – cooperative “So Stay Hotel” and “Spil’nytsja”, to a better understanding of practical aspects of social business.
The main outcome of the camp was delivering business plans of their own social enterprises in international groups, which comprised of aim, and mission of the company, target groups, product or service description, advantages of their product, marketing plan and SWOT analysis of the company.
Participants also had the opportunity to introduce their countries, national traditions, and culture to friends from another country during Ukrainian-Polish cultural evenings.
