Universal Peace Federation integrally with Ukrainian Peace Council organised the international conference “Fundamental Principles of Sustainable Peace”, which was held in Kyiv on October 21st, 2016.
Among those who took the floor were Leonid Kravchuk , the first President of Ukraine, Otsuka Katsumi, the Head of the Universal Peace Federation in Eurasia, Peter Haider, the Head of the Universal Peace Federation, as well as Victor Yelensky, Michael Zgurovsky and Oleg Lashchuk.
During the conference, participants exchanged their views and experiences concerning the capability to maintain peace of every particular citizen and the international community as a whole. The speech of Oleg Lashchuk, the Chairman of the NGO “Poruch”, on “Social Cohesion of Communities for Sustainable Peace” received rave reviews of the participants. The experience of the organisation in the IOM project with the support of the Japanese government “Supporting Stabilisation of the Communities Suffered the Consequences of the Conflict in Donbas” made a positive impression on the representative of Japan – the Head of the Universal Peace Federation in Eurasia Katsumi Otsuka and other members of the international delegation, who reported their readiness for further cooperation.
