On the 27-28th of June, the “School of Volunteers” visited the glorious city of Izium in the Kharkiv region. Participants of the 2 days program had trainings and received a new knowledge for the further realization of their projects. The coaches of NGO “Poruch” Ihor Titov, Vladislav Dementiev, Christina Hyrenko and Anastasia Sulima participated.
On the first day, participants got acquainted with each other, learned about the place and role of volunteering in the community and how the community can influence government. The mini-lecture was backed up by the simulation game “Elections”, where the participants showed their extraordinary honesty and justice. After lunch break participants were able to join the movement “No Hate Speech Movement”. This movement is aimed at overcoming the language of hates.
For the second day, the training began with exercises, which loaded the community with a positive and persistentfor the whole day. Activists tested their knowledge and got acquired a new game “Disaster in the Desert”, where they showed their leadership qualities and behaviors of leaders, while performing certain tasks. Also, teams of participants showed their decent teamwork, cohesion and ingenuity during the quest by “Volunteers Ways”. But the main achievement of the second day of the training was that the local activists turned their ideas into real projects, aimed at solving community problems. Implementation of one of these projects – “Clean Environment” – was started jointly during the project days. A few interesting initiatives await their implementation.
Thanks to the initiative group “Nova Meta” for inviting and a good time! We believe in your activists and look forward to further cooperation.
