Executive Director of the NGO “Poruch” Maria Tyshchenko became the member of five days training course on an equal partnership of men and women for strengthening democratic development of the country, held in Kiev on 13-17 February 2018.
The MALE training program is the first of its kind training module that focuses on engaging men as Allie of women in order to establish equal partnerships between women and men at home, household, community and institutional level.
The program includes a combination of training exercises, discussions and interactions that promote the partnership of men and women in political and electoral processes. It provides knowledge of theories and concepts of gender, promotes equal rights and opportunities for men and women and establishes sustained practices in the process of policy-making.
The training aims to empower men and women, recognizing the presence of gender discrimination as well as in non-confrontational style, to plan concrete steps to overcome a significant gender gap (in favor of men) in the political representation.
The implementation of the Alliance’s initiative to promote equal partnership of women and men in Ukraine became possible owing to the support of the United States Agency for International Development, the Ministry of International Affairs of Canada and British assistance from the Government of the United Kingdom.
